DAB Digital Radio

Radio Worthing is preparing to join DAB digital radio across South West Sussex, following the successful award of the new local DAB multiplex licence.

This is an important step forward for Radio Worthing and for local broadcasting in the area. As a Community Interest Company, Radio Worthing exists to serve Worthing and nearby communities with genuinely local news, information, community coverage and a platform for local voices. Our ability to broadcast on DAB digital radio will allow the station to reach listeners across the town and surrounding areas.

Importantly, Radio Worthing CIC is part of the consortium awarded the licence, giving us a voice in how the multiplex is developed and run, helping to ensure it reflects our ambitions for local radio and delivers the best possible service for listeners.

In addition to DAB digital radio, Radio Worthing will also be available on smart speakers and online, making it easy for listeners to stay connected in the way that suits them best.

Radio Worthing will broadcast 24 hours a day with a strong focus on local life in Worthing and the surrounding area. From community events and local news to information, features and conversation, the aim is to provide a service that reflects the people, places and stories that matter to us here in the town.

The award of the licence is a major milestone, but the work now begins to build the infrastructure needed to bring the new multiplex into service. Radio Worthing looks forward to being part of this new chapter for local digital radio in South West Sussex and to bringing truly local radio back to our town.
