Nell Gwynn Comedy Play Presented by Ferring Amateur Dramatic Society
Mar 25, 2026 at 7:30pm - Ferring Village Hall

Ferring Amateur Dramatic Society will present its spring production of Nell Gwynn by Jessica Swale at Ferring Village Hall.
The lively comedy, which premiered in London in 2016 and won the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy, explores the colourful world of Restoration theatre and the remarkable rise of one of its most famous figures.
Set in the late seventeenth century, the play follows Nell Gwynn from her beginnings in Coal Yard Alley to becoming one of Britain’s best known actresses and the beloved companion of King Charles II. Along the way she must navigate the intrigues of theatre life and the challenges faced by women at a time when the stage was still a controversial place for them to appear.
Performances take place from Wednesday 25 March to Saturday 28 March at 7.30pm. A licensed bar will offer refreshments before the performance and during the interval. Tickets cost £12 and can be purchased online at www.ticketsource.co.uk/fad.
