A283 Steyning Bypass to Close Overnight for Roadworks Programme

The A283 Steyning Bypass will be closed overnight on multiple dates between June 8 and July 14 as contractors carry out a programme of road maintenance works.

The road will be closed between the Castle Lane and High Trees roundabouts from 8pm until 6am during three separate periods. The works will include stud removal, surface dressing and stud replacement.

The first closure is scheduled from June 8 to June 13 for stud removal. The road will then close again from June 18 to June 25 for surface dressing, before a final closure from July 9 to July 14 for stud replacement. A diversion route will be in place throughout the works. The bypass, which opened in 1981, forms a key route between the Washington roundabout and the Shoreham flyover.
