Appeal after 84 year old Worthing man dies in A24 car crash

Police are appealing for information after an 84 year old man from Worthing was killed in a two vehicle collision on the A24 near the Washington roundabout.

Emergency services were called to the southbound carriageway shortly before 11:00 GMT on Friday following a crash involving a BMW and a Volkswagen.

The driver of the BMW, aged 84, died at the scene, while his 82 year old female passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen, a 54 year old woman, was also taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

Sussex Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area at the time to come forward to assist their investigation.
