Car fire causes delays on the A27 at Worthing

A car fire on the A27 in Worthing caused significant delays this afternoon, with traffic reported to be queueing in both directions near the Grove Lodge Roundabout.

The incident occurred on Warren Road close to the junction with the A24 Broadwater Street West. Emergency services attended the scene and motorists were advised to expect delays while the vehicle was dealt with.

The car was later cleared from the road, although traffic in the area remained heavier than normal as congestion eased.
