Coffee Camp in Findon Valley to Close After Fundraising Falls Short

The Coffee Camp in Findon Valley, Worthing, has announced that it will close after efforts to secure the business’s future were unsuccessful. A crowdfunding campaign raised almost £15,000, but this was significantly below the £150,000 target set to help keep the venue operating.

Owner Nick Bartlett said the decision had been made with “extreme sadness” and reflected on the coffee shop’s eight years of trading. He thanked customers for their support and said the business had become an important part of the local community. Any donations made through the fundraising campaign will be returned to donors.

Mr Bartlett established The Coffee Camp in 2018 after leaving a career in policing. He previously explained that the business had faced financial difficulties linked to borrowing during the Covid pandemic and the cost of repairing equipment. Customers responding on social media paid tribute to the cafe, describing it as a valued community hub and praising its staff, atmosphere and coffee.
