Council invites operators to run summer putting at Worthing park

Worthing Borough Council has launched an expression of interest for businesses and individuals to run public golf putting sessions at Marine Gardens during the summer months.
The proposal focuses on the southern lawn of the park, an area that has hosted putting in the past, with the council encouraging applicants to add something distinctive to one of the town’s most popular green spaces.
Marine Gardens, located west of Worthing seafront, sits within a conservation area and has a long association with outdoor leisure activities such as putting and bowls. The council said it would continue to own and maintain the green, while any successful operator would be expected to support ground maintenance. The concession includes use of a small pavilion room and some putting equipment, and the green would remain publicly accessible.
Applicants are also invited to propose additional activities alongside putting, provided they respect the setting and character of the gardens. The council aims for the service to be available by Easter or earlier, with applications required by Wednesday, February 18.
