Deadline day to apply for voter authority certificate ahead of May elections

Today is the final day for people without accepted photo identification to apply for a Voter Authority Certificate in order to vote in the upcoming May 7 elections. Applications must be submitted by 5pm on April 28.
All voters, including those acting as a proxy for someone else, are required to present an approved form of photographic ID at polling stations. Accepted forms include a passport, driving licence, biometric immigration document such as an eVisa, a PASS card, a Blue Badge, and certain concessionary bus passes. Identification can be expired provided the photograph remains a clear likeness.
Those who do not hold any of the accepted forms of ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate via the GOV.UK website before the deadline. Without valid identification or a certificate, individuals will not be permitted to vote in person at the elections.
