Disqualified Littlehampton Driver Jailed After Dangerous Arundel Police Pursuit

A disqualified driver from Littlehampton has been jailed after leading police on a high-speed pursuit through Arundel, during which he collided with other vehicles and drove dangerously.

Marley Keet, 28, of Old Market Lane, Littlehampton, was already banned from driving when he was spotted by officers outside Arundel at around 1pm on 13 April. When asked to stop, Keet fled in a van at high speed, weaving through traffic and driving the wrong way around a roundabout during a 15-minute police pursuit.

Keet’s attempts to evade officers included driving towards Amberley and into a rural dead-end, where he tried to hide in the back of the van. He was arrested at the scene and later charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without valid insurance, and failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

At Lewes Crown Court on 17 June, Keet was sentenced to one year in prison and disqualified from driving for a further two and a half years. PC Rick Schofield from Sussex Police’s Roads Policing Unit described the incident as “highly reckless” and emphasised the force’s commitment to removing dangerous drivers from the roads.
