Dolphins spotted off Worthing coast in festive sightings

Dolphins were spotted swimming along the Sussex coastline near Worthing on Monday December 22, providing an unexpected festive sight for people observing the sea. Reports described multiple pods moving west offshore during the late morning.
The sightings were confirmed by the Sussex Dolphin Project, which said it received reports from separate sources along the coast. One report described several groups of common dolphins seen offshore from Worthing shortly before midday, all travelling in the same direction.
The conservation group said the reports were valuable for understanding how dolphins use local waters and encouraged anyone who spots dolphins, whales or porpoises to submit sightings to help build a clearer picture of marine activity along the coast.
