Emergency services respond to fire at Broadwater property

Emergency services attended a fire at a property in Sompting Road, Broadwater, in the early hours of Thursday morning, with a partial road closure put in place while crews remained at the scene.

The incident was reported at around 3.15am on 20 August. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said four crews were attending a fire involving a domestic dwelling and advised nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed and avoid the area while firefighters worked.

Police vehicles were later seen outside Glawood House, a sheltered housing complex. Sussex Police said enquiries were continuing to establish the full circumstances of the fire, while the fire service confirmed that investigations into its nature remained ongoing.
