Ferring Men in Sheds launches appeal for new storage shed

A popular community group in Ferring has launched an urgent fundraising appeal to secure a permanent storage shed after demand forced it to turn away new members.
Ferring Men in Sheds, part of the UK-wide Men in Sheds initiative, has been running since February and quickly outgrew its current space at Ferring Country Centre. The group, which meets weekly to share skills, work on community projects and offer friendship, now has a waiting list of people keen to join. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to raise £1,200 for a new shed, with land already offered at the centre for its installation.
Chairman Andrew Jackson said the lack of a permanent base has left the group struggling for space to store wood, tools and handmade items. He explained that a dedicated shed would allow more members to take part and enable the group to expand its community projects.
The organisation is now appealing to local residents, businesses and supporters for donations, emphasising that even small contributions will make a difference. More information about the group and its activities can be found at www.ferringmis.org, while donations can be made via its GoFundMe page.
