Fire crews extinguish house fire in Worthing

Firefighters have extinguished a fire at a residential property in Worthing after crews were called to reports of smoke coming from a house on Terringes Avenue.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was alerted at 10.09am on Friday, December 19, to a fire in the roof space of a domestic property. Four fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were sent to the scene, with firefighters wearing breathing apparatus working to bring the blaze under control.
An update issued at 1.25pm confirmed the fire was out and the incident had been scaled back. Terringes Avenue was temporarily partially blocked between Ringmer Road and Pelham Road due to the emergency response, causing slow traffic, but the road later reopened and crews have since left the area.
