Fire crews tackle microwave blaze in Worthing kitchen

Emergency crews were called to Chapel Road in Worthing after a microwave caught fire on Saturday afternoon. Two fire engines were sent to the scene shortly after 1pm.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters arrived to find the microwave alight in the kitchen. Crews wearing breathing apparatus used a high-pressure hose reel to extinguish the blaze.

The incident was brought under control quickly, and crews left the scene at around 2.10pm. No injuries were reported.
