Firefighters tackle garden shed blaze in Worthing

Fire crews were called to a residential property in Pilgrims Walk, Worthing on Tuesday evening (30 April) following reports of a fire in the garden.

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service received the alert shortly after 6pm and dispatched two fire engines to the scene. On arrival, crews discovered a shed in the garden was ablaze and began immediate efforts to contain and extinguish the fire.

Firefighters used two high-pressure hose reels to bring the flames under control. A thermal imaging camera was then deployed to check for any remaining hotspots or signs of reignition. Crews remained on-site until 7.20pm to ensure the area was fully safe before standing down.

No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire has not been disclosed at this stage.
