Five Worthing Scouts chosen for 2027 World Scout Jamboree

Five Worthing Scouts have been selected to join the UK contingent for the 26th World Scout Jamboree, which will take place in Poland in 2027. The group was chosen following a district selection camp held in October.

The West Sussex Jamboree unit will be led by Stuart Sexton from 1st Billingshurst Scout Group, who previously attended the global event in 1995. He said he was looking forward to supporting 36 young people from across Sussex as they prepare for the international gathering, which takes place every four years and brings together Scouts aged 14 to 18 from around the world.

Each of the selected Worthing Scouts needs to raise £3,000 to take part, and their first fundraising event will be a Christmas fair at the 2nd Worthing Scout Hall in Bruce Avenue on Saturday, November 29, from 10am to 4pm. The event will include stalls, games, activities, refreshments and a Santa’s grotto.
