Four fire engines called to garage fire in Worthing

Four fire engines were sent to a garage fire in Nightingale Avenue, Worthing, on Thursday evening after emergency services were called to the scene.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said crews were called at 7.46pm on May 21 following reports of a fire at a garage. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used high pressure hose reels to extinguish the blaze.

Residents living nearby were advised to avoid the area and keep doors and windows closed while crews dealt with the incident. Firefighters left the scene at 10pm, with one crew returning at 7am on Friday morning for a reinspection, where no further signs of fire were found.
