Goring primary school footballers triumph in district finals

English Martyrs Catholic Primary School in Goring has won the District Small Schools Football Finals after an unbeaten run in challenging icy conditions.
The year five and six team secured the title with five wins and one draw from six matches, earning the chance to represent Worthing at the next stage of the competition. Staff praised the pupils’ determination and teamwork throughout the tournament.
Head teacher Dr Helen Townsley highlighted standout performances, including a player scoring more than 12 goals and a goalkeeper completing a full match while wearing only one glove. She said the school is proud of the team as they prepare for the upcoming EFSA Danone Cup stage.
