Goring seafront path consultation results under review

Worthing Borough Council is reviewing feedback from more than 1,000 respondents following a public consultation on proposals to widen the seafront path in Goring.

The plans would see the existing route between Sea Lane and George V Avenue expanded to allow shared use by pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users and people with buggies. The council said the current path is too narrow and lacks passing points, preventing safe use by those travelling on two wheels.

Council staff are now assessing comments submitted online, at in-person events and through stakeholder groups. Further discussions will take place with accessibility organisations to better understand the needs of users with mobility, hearing or visual impairments. The council intends to seek external funding and develop final designs if the project progresses.
