Helicopter crashes in field near Patching

Emergency services were called to a field near Patching this afternoon after a helicopter crashed, with firefighters, police and paramedics attending the scene.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was called at 2.06pm to reports of a light aircraft crash near Patching. Two fire engines and an off-road vehicle were dispatched to the site. Crews found a helicopter had come down in a field and worked to make the scene safe.

Sussex Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service were also in attendance. Fire crews left the scene shortly after 4pm. No further details about injuries or the cause of the crash have been released.
