Kegs stolen from Arundel Brewery in early-morning theft

Police are investigating after a large quantity of empty kegs was stolen from Arundel Brewery and Taphouse in an early-morning raid. The theft happened at about 6.30am on Saturday, 8 November, when the containers were loaded onto a white Mercedes Sprinter-type van.
Officers are examining CCTV footage and are appealing for anyone with dashcam or other recordings from the area to come forward. The brewery’s owner, Stuart Walker, said the images clearly showed a van arriving and being filled with kegs before leaving the site on Lyminster Road.
The brewery, founded in 1992, is now working with suppliers to replace the missing kegs ahead of the Christmas period, which Mr Walker described as vital for independent businesses. He also highlighted the financial pressures facing small breweries, citing rising costs and supermarket pricing.
The business received strong support from customers after sharing news of the theft on social media. Sussex Police urged anyone with information to contact them, quoting serial 375 of 08/11.
