Man admits rape of woman in Worthing car park

A 27 year old man has pleaded guilty to raping a young woman in a car park in Worthing, Sussex Police have confirmed.

Mukaish, of Cambridge Road in Worthing, admitted the offence at Lewes Crown Court on April 13. The court heard the attack took place at Lyndhurst Road car park at around 8pm on March 11. He has been remanded in custody and is due to be sentenced on June 15 at a crown court venue yet to be confirmed.

Police said the victim has been supported by specially trained officers. Detective Superintendent Andrew Harbour described the case as a complex investigation and thanked the victim and witnesses for their assistance, adding that tackling violence against women and girls remains a priority for the force.
