Man arrested after woman suffers serious neck wound in Tarring

A 41-year-old man from Worthing has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent after a woman presented to hospital with a neck wound in the early hours of Friday 29 May.

The 33-year-old woman, who is known to the suspect, attended hospital at about 6am. She was treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries and remains in a stable condition.

Police said the incident is reported to have taken place near Downview Road and Tarring Road in West Worthing during the early hours of the morning. An investigation is underway and officers have appealed for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to contact police, quoting serial 334 of 29/05. The suspect remains in custody.
