Man arrested in Worthing after armed police seize hundreds of Class A drug wraps

A Worthing man has been charged following the seizure of hundreds of suspected Class A drug wraps by armed police.

Officers from Sussex Police’s Tactical Firearms Unit (TFU) were alerted to a suspicious vehicle in Lancing, which was later traced to Grafton Road in Worthing. A 25-year-old man was arrested at the scene.

Subsequent searches carried out by the Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU) at an address linked to the suspect uncovered more than 350 wraps of what police believe to be crack cocaine and heroin, with an estimated street value of several thousand pounds.

A man has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of a Class B drug, and acquiring or possessing criminal property. He appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 10 July and was remanded in custody. He is scheduled to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 7 August.
