Police have charged a man with murder following the death of 25-year-old Jack Mitten in Worthing last week.

Officers were called to Lindum Road in Tarring at around 4.05pm on Wednesday (3 September) after reports of a man suffering serious injuries. Despite the efforts of emergency services, Jack Mitten was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Friday (5 September), police arrested 22-year-old Taylor Mitten, of Lindum Road, on suspicion of murder. He has since been charged and remanded in custody, pending an appearance at Crawley Magistrates’ Court this morning (8 September).

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cullimore confirmed that specialist officers are continuing to support Jack’s family as they grieve, urging both the media and the public to respect their request for privacy. He added that the investigation has now entered a new phase as preparations are made for court proceedings, and thanked the community for their patience and support.
