More than 1,200 attend Worthing prostate screening event

More than 1,200 men attended an annual prostate screening event at the Charmandean Centre in Worthing on Saturday.

The event was organised by Worthing Lions, prostate cancer charity PCaSO and Worthing Freemasons, with a combined team of almost 50 volunteers and phlebotomists involved.

Blood samples collected during the event were taken to Worthing Hospital for testing, funded by PCaSO at no charge to the NHS. Organisers said participants would normally receive their results within five days, indicating whether they were normal or out of range.
