New Sainsbury's store in Tarring moves forward with licence application

Plans for a new Sainsbury’s store in Tarring have progressed with the submission of a premises licence application for a proposed convenience store at 82 South Street. The application seeks permission to sell alcohol for consumption off the premises from 7am to 11pm daily, with the store suggested to operate 24 hours a day.
A public consultation on the application is open until Friday, December 5, with a licensing committee hearing scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, if required. The proposal forms part of Sainsbury’s plans to open a new Sainsbury’s Local in the area.
A separate planning application was lodged with Worthing Borough Council in April by Alder King Planning Consultants on behalf of Sainsbury’s. It seeks permission to demolish the existing Clarion Cars showroom and build the new store with associated customer parking.
