Pedestrian dies after late night collision on A27 in Angmering

A 20-year-old man has died following a collision involving a vehicle on the A27 in Angmering.

Emergency services were called to the westbound carriageway of Arundel Road at Hammerpot at around 10.40pm on Friday, 3 April, after reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. The man, who was local to the area, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the incident and carried out initial investigations. It has since reopened.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the collision and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward. Information can be provided by email or by calling 101, quoting Operation Newgate.
