Person rescued after house fire in Rustington

A person has been rescued following a fire at a property in Rustington, with emergency services called to the scene on Tuesday morning.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said crews were alerted to the incident at Ashwood Drive at around 10.25am. Firefighters attended the scene and worked to bring the blaze under control, with residents advised to avoid the area while operations were ongoing.

One person was rescued from the property and placed in the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service. Fire crews from East Preston, Littlehampton and Worthing remained at the scene as the response was scaled down following the fire being extinguished.
