Person taken to hospital after house fire in Worthing

A person has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a domestic property in Worthing.

Emergency services were called to Ashdown Road at around 6.45pm on Sunday April 26, where a small fire had started in the living room of the property. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said three fire engines were sent to the scene, and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to bring the blaze under control.

Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the incident and treated one person for smoke inhalation before taking them to Worthing Hospital for further care. Fire crews left the scene by around 7.30pm.
