Plans for 16 New Homes Approved in Findon National Park Site

Plans to build 16 homes in Findon have been approved by the South Downs National Park Authority following a number of amendments to address concerns raised earlier this year.

The development, located at Elm Rise in Findon, will include 12 houses and a block of four flats, with half of the homes designated as affordable. The application by Cayuga Developments Ltd had previously been deferred in February to allow for improvements in drainage, parking and the relationship between the proposed flats and nearby properties in Horseshoe Close.

Adjustments made include increasing the number of parking spaces from 28 to 31, repositioning the flats to reduce impact on neighbours, and introducing a sustainable drainage strategy. Each home will now feature a water butt, soakaway, rain garden, and permeable paving. Additional measures include a dry swale for road runoff and an earth bund to the west. Maintenance of the system will be handled by a management company funded through resident contributions. The committee approved the revised plans unanimously.
