Plans unveiled for new community hub in Worthing park pavilion

A community interest company has outlined plans to transform an underused pavilion in a Worthing park into a new hub focused on food sustainability wellbeing and community support.

Adur and Worthing Food Partnership has signed a 12 month lease agreement with Worthing Borough Council to take over the pavilion building next to Palm Court in Beach House Park. The organisation aims to create a shared space bringing together residents volunteers charities and local businesses to improve food security reduce waste and promote healthy eating.

The indoor facilities will be used for cooking workshops community meals meetings and skills sessions while the outdoor areas are expected to host festivals seasonal events and markets. Local residents groups and organisations are being encouraged to get involved in developing the space as a collaborative resource for the town.
