Police Appeal After Hammer-Wielding Robbery in Shoreham

Police are appealing for help to identify a man who threatened staff with a hammer during a robbery at the Co-op store in Ham Road, Shoreham. The incident occurred just after 7am on Saturday 10 May.

The suspect, described as a white male around 5’11” tall with a large, stocky build and copper-coloured hair, entered the shop and made off with an undisclosed sum of cash. He was wearing a black hoodie, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

Officers believe the same man may have been involved in a separate incident moments earlier at Shoreham News in Buckingham Road, where a staff member was threatened and an attempt was made to steal cigarettes. No injuries were reported in either case. Police are continuing their investigation and have asked anyone with information to call 999 quoting serial 270 of 10/5.
