Police appeal after man assaulted in Worthing park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old man was assaulted in Victoria Park, Worthing, in the early hours of Monday 1 September.

The victim was walking through the park, near St Matthews Road, between midnight and 3am when he was approached by three men who attacked him. He sustained a serious head injury, though it is not believed to be life-threatening.

A member of the public took the injured man to hospital, and officers are keen to speak to this individual as part of their enquiries. Police are also urging anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has relevant video footage from the area at the time to come forward.
