Police appeal after reported stabbing in Worthing

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a reported stabbing in Worthing which left a 37-year-old man injured. Officers were called to Shelley Road at the junction with Salisbury Road at about 1.10 am on Tuesday, August 11, and the injured man was taken to hospital.

Detective Inspector Lee Simmonds said police were investigating the reported stabbing and described the suspect as a slim black man wearing a brown T-shirt and jeans. He said there would be an increased police presence in the area while officers carried out enquiries and provided reassurance.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward. Officers are also seeking CCTV, dashcam, doorbell or mobile phone footage which may assist the investigation. Information can be reported to Sussex Police online, quoting serial 76 of 11/08.
