Power cuts affect 215 homes and businesses in Worthing town centre

An estimated 215 homes and businesses in Worthing town centre have been affected by repeated power cuts on Tuesday 27 October, with engineers investigating a suspected underground cable fault.

UK Power Networks said it became aware of the outage at 10.29am, affecting customers in the BN11 1 and BN11 3 postcode areas. Engineers were being sent to Chatsworth Road to investigate and repair the fault.

UK Power Networks said it believes a developing cable fault is responsible for the repeated interruptions. Electricity is currently expected to be restored between 4pm and 5pm, although the company warned this estimate could change following an assessment by engineers. The company has apologised for the disruption caused.
