Removal van destroyed in Worthing road fire

A removal van was destroyed by fire on Broadwater Road in Worthing on Monday, with firefighters bringing the blaze under control. The vehicle was extensively damaged, with its cab and cargo area appearing to have been completely burned out.
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the incident at 12.06pm. Two fire engines were sent to the scene after crews found the vehicle well alight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a high pressure hose reel before leaving the scene at 12.42pm. Police officers were also present at the incident.
An eye-witness said the vehicle was a removal van and that all of its contents were destroyed in the fire. They added that no one was injured. Smoke was seen billowing across the area and the cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed.
