Residents invited to shape West Sussex Fire Service’s 2026 safety strategy

West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service has launched a public consultation seeking feedback on its proposed Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP) for 2026 and beyond.
The plan outlines the service’s future strategy for tackling fires and emergencies, maintaining public safety, and allocating resources based on community risks.
The proposed CRMP builds on feedback gathered from a previous questionnaire and focuses on five core priorities: preventing incidents, improving building fire safety, responding swiftly and effectively to emergencies, supporting a skilled workforce, and optimising the use of resources. Residents are encouraged to take part in the consultation to help shape how the service operates in the years ahead.
The initiative is part of a statutory requirement under national fire safety frameworks. Residents can submit their views through an online survey on the West Sussex County Council website or request a paper copy by calling 01243 786211. The consultation closes on 22 September.
