Residents across West Sussex are being urged to take part in a public consultation on a new five-year strategy to improve health and wellbeing in the county.
The West Sussex Health and Wellbeing Board has launched a draft strategy covering the period from 2025 to 2030, outlining its vision and five key priority areas. These include improving food and nutrition, school readiness, support for young people transitioning into adulthood, tobacco control, and health support for those in temporary accommodation.
The strategy is based on current data and needs assessments and aims to reduce health inequalities across the county. Residents, including young people, professionals and local organisations, are invited to share their views before the consultation closes at 11.55pm on Sunday 27 April 2025. Paper copies of the survey are available at local libraries, or it can be completed online.
The West Sussex Health and Wellbeing Board is a statutory body made up of representatives from local authorities, the NHS, voluntary groups and community organisations. It plays a central role in setting the strategic direction for health services in the area, facilitating joint working and ensuring that the health needs of local communities are effectively met.
