Rubbish left behind after caravans move on from Goring Gap

Bags of rubbish have been left behind at Goring Gap after a group of caravans vacated the area following several days on site.

The encampment was first spotted on 13 May, prompting West Sussex County Council officers to attend, supported by Sussex Police. A notice to vacate the land was issued on 14 May, and the council warned that court proceedings would follow if the caravans did not move on voluntarily.

A council spokesperson confirmed that the site was being closely monitored in collaboration with Adur and Worthing Council and the police. The caravans have now left, but images show discarded bags of rubbish left behind at the beauty spot.
