Search carried out off Littlehampton coast after report of man in sea

Emergency services carried out a large search off the coast at Littlehampton after reports that a man was in the sea.

HM Coastguard teams, the RNLI and Sussex Police were involved in an extensive operation at East Beach on the evening of January 15, with the search covering both the sea and the surrounding shoreline.

Sussex Police said the search concluded with no one believed to be in the water, and officers are continuing enquiries to understand the original report, identify the individual involved and confirm that they are safe.
