Serial Worthing shoplifter banned from Sussex stores after latest offences

A prolific shoplifter from Worthing has been banned from entering major retailers across Sussex after admitting a series of theft offences committed over several months.

Nathan Lee, 48, targeted shops in Worthing and Littlehampton between July and November, stealing goods worth hundreds of pounds. He was charged with eight shop theft offences and one count of stealing a pedal cycle, admitting the charges when he appeared before Worthing Magistrates’ Court in December.

The court imposed a two year Criminal Behaviour Order preventing Lee from entering a number of national retailers across Sussex, alongside an eight month suspended prison sentence and a requirement to complete rehabilitation sessions. Police said the order follows coordinated work by officers to address persistent shoplifting and protect retail staff, customers and local communities.
