Shoreham arts centre announced as sole recipient of recent Creative Foundations Funding

A performing arts venue in Shoreham has secured a major funding boost to support refurbishment and expansion works.

Radio Worthing had previously reported that Adur and Worthing Councils were listed as the recipients of the Creative Foundations Fund grant however it has since been confirmed that the funding of £371,278 is allocated solely to Ropetackle Arts Centre in Little High Street

The grant will contribute to a wider project valued at more than £500,000, with additional funding provided by the centre itself.

The investment will fund a programme of improvements including upgrades to the auditorium to increase capacity, alongside modernisation of the foyer, box office and Rose Petal Café. Plans also include the creation of additional office space, with organisers stating the work will help enhance facilities for audiences, artists and the wider community.

The funding forms part of a wider £12.6 million package across the South East through the Creative Foundations Fund, which sits within the government’s Arts Everywhere Fund.
