Teenager pleads guilty to axe attack attempted murders in Worthing

A teenager has pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder following an axe attack on a man and woman in Worthing.

Emergency services were called to a property in Rowlands Road, Worthing, in the early hours of Monday 13 January. A man and woman, both in their 40s, sustained serious injuries. Sussex Police later confirmed that a 15-year-old boy, known to the victims, had been arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Six months after the incident, the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed that the now 16-year-old pleaded guilty to both charges at a hearing on 21 July. He is due to be sentenced at Lewes Crown Court on 12 September. Sussex Police reported that both victims were discharged from hospital by mid-February.
