Teenager seriously injured in machete incident

A teenager from Worthing is in a serious condition after being attacked with a machete on Friday evening.

Emergency services were called at 8.50pm on 16 May to a report of an assault on a field in Felpham Way, near the Southdowns pub. The 17-year-old victim sustained a critical injury and was airlifted to hospital, where he remains under care.

Following the incident, Sussex Police arrested two boys from Bognor, aged 15 and 17, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Both remain in custody as the investigation continues.
