Temporary Closure of Shoreham Post Office Prompts Community Concern

The Post Office on Mansell Road in Shoreham has been temporarily closed since 5 February due to what have been described as ‘unforeseen circumstances’.
The Post Office confirmed the closure was not permanent and that efforts were underway to restore the service. A spokeswoman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this closure and we are working hard to try to restore service to the community as soon as possible.” Customers are being advised to use nearby branches at Southlands, 0.5 miles away, or Southwick, 1.1 miles away.
A sign has appeared in the shop window since the closure stating, “Closed. Staff not paid, community let down.” While the Post Office has not commented on the notice, it has reiterated the closure is temporary. Local residents have described the branch as a vital part of the community and expressed disappointment over the continued closure.
