Two men arrested after high value shop theft in Worthing

Two men have been arrested following a high value shop theft at a supermarket in Durrington, with police recovering thousands of pounds worth of suspected stolen goods.

Police were called to a Tesco store in Durrington at around 8.10am on 9 April after suspects stole items including electric toothbrushes, baby monitors and electric shavers. A silver Renault Megane linked to the incident was later stopped by officers from the Surrey Roads Policing Unit on the M25.

Items connected to the Worthing theft, along with other suspected stolen goods worth thousands of pounds, were recovered from the vehicle. Two men aged 19 and 22 from Hemel Hempstead were arrested on suspicion of shop theft and handling stolen goods and have since been bailed with conditions while enquiries continue.
