University Hospitals Sussex launches online heart hub for cardiac patients

University Hospitals Sussex has launched a new online heart hub to give cardiac patients easier access to trusted information about heart health and their care.

The resource brings together information from cardiac organisations and charities and was developed following feedback from the Trust’s Cardiac Patients Improvements Group. Patients had identified difficulties finding trustworthy information online and understanding medical terminology used in healthcare communications.

The group worked with Sarah Young, Nurse Consultant in Cardiology, to develop the resource. University Hospitals Sussex said use of the heart hub will be monitored through website analytics, while a feedback section will allow patients to share their experiences and help shape future improvements.
