Veterans and community gather for Worthing Remembrance Service

Veterans, civic leaders and residents gathered in Worthing on Sunday for the town’s annual Remembrance Service to honour those who lost their lives in conflict. The event took place at the Worthing War Memorial outside Worthing Town Hall in Chapel Road, where a two-minute silence was observed at 11am.
The service was followed by the traditional march past and wreath-laying ceremony, with representatives from local organisations and community groups taking part. The Mayor of Worthing, Councillor Cathy Glynn-Davies, laid a wreath and took the salute during the march past. She expressed her appreciation for those who attended and supported the event.
Worthing is also set to hold an Armistice Day service on Tuesday, November 11, with another two-minute silence to take place at the War Memorial. The commemorations form part of the town’s ongoing efforts to remember and honour the contributions of the armed forces and those who served in past and present conflicts.
