Views Sought on Worthing SEND Proposals

West Sussex County Council is asking residents for their views on using The Pines, in Faraday Close, Durrington, to extend the capacity of Oak Grove College, to create up to 60 additional specialist school places.

The plans are part of wider consultations by the county council to create 170 additional school places across West Sussex for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The plans include expanding capacity in Worthing, Horsham and Chichester.

The plan for Worthing would increase Oak Grove College’s number of planned places from 278 to 338, with the number increasing gradually over several years. The proposals also include the replacement of a modular classroom currently used by the school, but which is placed on an adjacent county council site.

The deadline for responses is 6th November.
